The density of carbon bricks, also known as the volume density of carbon bricks, refers to the mass per unit volume of carbon refractory bricks. The volume density index of carbon bricks is an important indicator of the density of carbon bricks. Carbon brick density is relatively easy to detect, and in production, carbon brick density is used as a test to determine the degree of sintering of carbon bricks. The higher the density of carbon bricks, the better their resistance to slag erosion. Generally, the density of carbon bricks is expressed in g/cm3 or kg/m3.

Blast furnace carbon bricks can be divided into blast furnace semi graphite carbon bricks, blast furnace microporous carbon bricks, and blast furnace carbon composite bricks based on the different parts of the blast furnace lining used. Different materials of blast furnace carbon bricks have different physical and chemical indicators and volume densities.
Blast furnace semi graphite carbon bricks are generally used for laying the bottom of blast furnaces, with a volume density of 1.5g/cm3;
Blast furnace microporous carbon bricks are generally used for the masonry of blast furnace hearth and walls, with a volume density of 1.65-1.7g/cm3 depending on the location of use;
Blast furnace carbon composite bricks are generally used for the masonry of blast furnace ceramic cups, with a volume density ranging from 2.7 to 2.85g/cm3 based on different physical and chemical indicators;
The density of blast furnace carbon bricks is one of the important reference indicators for customers to purchase carbon bricks. Different uses of carbon bricks have different physical and chemical indicators, and their volume density requirements are also different.
There are two factors that affect the volume density of blast furnace carbon bricks: firstly, the particle size of refractory raw materials and the volume density of raw materials; On the other hand, it is the control of the production process. Therefore, when producing blast furnace carbon bricks, it is necessary to strictly screen the grade of raw materials and control the particles, control the pressure of the brick press during the production process, and reasonably control the firing of blast furnace carbon bricks.
