Alkaline refractory materials mainly include the following types:

Magnesium refractory material: This is one of the most common alkaline refractory materials, mainly composed of magnesium oxide (MgO). Magnesium refractory materials have high refractoriness and strong resistance to alkaline slag, and are commonly used in high-temperature environments such as open hearth furnaces, oxygen blown converters, electric furnaces, and non-ferrous metal smelting equipment.

Baiyun stone refractory material: mainly composed of dolomite, it has good fire resistance and alkali slag resistance, and is suitable for some specific high-temperature equipment.

Magnesia chrome brick: This material is made by adding chromium oxide on the basis of magnesia brick, which improves its corrosion resistance and high temperature stability. It is commonly used in industrial environments with higher requirements.

Electric fused magnesia: Made by melting magnesium raw materials such as magnesite in an electric arc furnace, it has the characteristics of high purity, large crystalline particles, and dense structure. It is an excellent high-temperature electrical insulation material, commonly used in the production of high-end magnesia bricks, magnesia carbon bricks, and amorphous refractory materials.

        These materials have a wide range of applications in high-temperature industries such as metallurgy and chemical engineering due to their excellent fire resistance and corrosion resistance.

         Through the analysis of the technical characteristics of the refractory materials industry, the future development of refractory materials mainly includes the following aspects: in the field of amorphous refractory materials, refractory castables are mainly used for blast furnace lining (spray repair technology), iron trenches in blast furnace tapping yards, steel ladle and ladle lining, steel furnace external treatment equipment, dry cement kiln external circulation heat exchangers, as well as insulation materials and repair refractory materials. In terms of shaped refractory materials, new types of clay bricks and high alumina bricks with high technological potential are produced, such as lining materials for some areas of cement kilns, flow steel bricks, refractory bricks for blast furnaces and their hot blast stoves, red pillar stone bricks for blast furnaces and hot blast stoves, products for anode baking furnaces, clay and high alumina insulation bricks, etc.
